Free link tracker that will capture IP address

Dear experts, I'm looking for a link tracker (ie. something like clixtrac.com) that will save the IP address info of all those that click my link. Clixtrac free version does this, but only keeps the data for 7 days. Would anyone know of such a free service? I think I read somewhere that this could be done with Google Analytics, but Google Analytics is so huge and bewildering I wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks

the folowing lync will give you a fairly easy guide on how to add the ip to google analytics.

The code in there is for php, but the logic is there for any system.

Thanks, but the problem is I don't have any control of the webpages, they're not mine - I'm a Windows software developer and the links will be at various shareware websites. So i can't add any such code.  I need a "link tracker"... not a "hit tracker".

Thanks

From what I understand, you are looking for a third party link tracker with IP detection. Here are some that are similar to what you're looking for:
http://iplogger.org/main/urls/
http://taveo.net/
http://blasze.tk/

I should state though, if you use a 3rd party link shortener for your product URL, it has some risks.

If the 3rd party goes down, you have a bunch of sites you need to contact and work with to fix the url.

Most of your referral data (in Google Analytics) will show the 3rd party link tracker as the referrer. This means you have to use the 3rd party to analyze your referrer data. This 3rd party won't have a hook into your analytics account, so you won't be able to see what referrer is responsible for downloads (conversions) of your app.
