H3C Trunk and Hybrid port

A hybrid port can be assigned to multiple VLANs to receive and send packets for
them and allows packets of multiple VLANs to pass through untagged.
Hybrid ports can be used to connect network devices, as well as user devices.

A trunk port can be assigned to multiple VLANs to receive and send packets for them
but allows only packets of the default VLAN to pass through untagged.

I still can't identify the difference. Any example or further explanation ?

trunk port is required to forward multiple vlans between switches. each ethernet frame is tagged with vlan membership.

hybrid port also do same thing but can also carries untagged traffic of multiple VLANs.

imagine you want to seperate ipv4 and ipv6 traffic with different vlans,
you could use protocol based vlans on hybrid ports.
since they're carrying two untagged vlans no further configuration is neccesary.

VLAN tag is added to the packet to identify its VLAN. In case the packet doesn't tagged, ie no VLAN information, how can we identify the VLAN in which  a packet should be ?

in case of VLAN1 the packets automatically tagged as VLAN1 (defaults).
but what if the case in which single port should be used for multiple VLAN traffic in the same packet?
hybrid port can carry that kind of traffic, and its a very rare need in VLANs environment.

Ignore my comment as I marked a wrong discussion by mistake.

Suppose packet (tagged w VLAN 3), packet (tagged w VLAN 4) pass through a hybrid port, will the vlan information will be taken away or it will be kept ?

"multiple VLANs to pass through untagged" - does it mean the packets from the VLAN does not tagged originally ?

Tks again
Muhammad BurhanManager I.T.Commented:
on outbound its Sends the frame if its VLAN is permitted on the port. The frame is sent with the VLAN tag removed or intact depending on your configuration with the port hybrid vlan command.
