LED TV

Hi,

Wish to buy new LED TV, which is the best Brand compared with Samsung / LG/ Sony to buy.
Should we go for some lower brand to save cost as i have heard that all the LED panels are manufactured at one OEM only and all the above vendor purchased from the same LED panel OEM.

Kindly explain what is true so as to select the best TV.

Best Regards

About the origin of the panels I cant say anything.

But the quality of the panel is not the only thing affecting the quality of the image shown.
A big part does also play the software and the hardware which is decoding the video signals.

Also the user handling of OSD menus, etc. is important and should suit your needs

So you should try to see some of your preferred models in action. so you can evaluate the images shown and the user friendlynes of the firmware of the device.

Personally I have a sony smart-TV and I HATE its firmware and menus. But it was on  offer and very cheap so it was a good deal for me, as its only used as a screen for a set top box (SAT) and ill not use any of its OSD-menus, except one time to set it up.

It's very true some panels come from the same manufacturer, but as said by other Expert, other parts play a role (software/menus/functions, manufacturer keeping software up to date) and therefore mostly Samsung and to a lower degree LG comes to mind.
Also, keep the servicing in mind, where a cheap unknown brand may not even exist in a few months (and therefore maybe no way to service your TV in case of a defect), with bigger brands you're almost always sure your warranty will be upheld.
In the case of using a bigger brand, usually when a friend comes over, he can even explain some features you may never have used before.
