Dell R310 S100 Controller not Recognizing Hard Drive

I have a old Dell R310 that I'm trying to rebuild.  It had an old Dell 500GB drive in it.  I purchased two new Dell 500GB hard drives.  I can't get the server to now recognize the two new drives.  If I go into the S100 Controller settings, the physical drives do not show up.

BIOS has been updated to 1.12.0
PERC S100 running v.2.0.0.0162

What am I missing?  Is there an update that I can do to get the controller to see the new drives?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We noticed that the old drive with firmware 1S02 works but the new dell drive with firmware 1S05 is not recognized.

Is there an update that we can run to get the new drives to work?

The support.dell.com site will have legacy firmware.  Just type in the service tag for your computer.   Since this is dell product and is not installing, you are also free to just call support and ask for a human to walk you through this..    Such help is supposed to be free, even if the system is out of warranty.
