Windows 7 profile lost after power cut

Hi

A user called me because he can't log into his computer anymore
A power cut occured during the weekend and now his profile isn't present at logon anymore

There were initially two user accounts : Administrator and User1

Now only Administrator is visible/available on the Windows login screen

I checked the users folder on C: and the User1 folder is there.

I tried to create a new user profile in order to copy over the previous User1's profile files but everytime I login with the new user Windows creates a temporary profile and displays its warning

Any ideas ?
thanks
yann

I tried to create a new user profile ... but ... the new user Windows creates a temporary profile

Run System File Checker. Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator and run SFC /SCANNOW twice. Close out, shut down (power off), start up and try another new Windows user account. Does this work?

If not, the power cut may have done unspecified damage and it may be best to back up and reinstall Windows.

Is this a local account? If so does the account show up in Users/Control Panel? If it does, delete it from there. After that try creating a new account.
