Migrated SYSVOL from FRS to DFSR - SCOM DFSR Management Pack

Hello experts,

We have SCOM 2007 installed in our environment for monitoring, and we are about to install DFSR management pack and since the base MS pack does not have enough info, what recommendations do you suggest that actually needs monitoring to check DFSR health (eg, what services, events, suggested replication time)?

Please advise!

Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

For DFSR Specifically for sure monitor the service and ensuring it is started.

Also for Events I would recommend monitoring on the following...

Event ID = 5008, Log Name =DFS Replicaiton
Event ID = 5014, Log Name = DFS Replicaiton

Those should be enough information to ensure that DFS-R is up and running accordingly.

Does this comment I read online still stand to today's date?

Windows 2008 R2 is fully supported but you will need to use the ‘ File Services’ management pack (which includes DFS) The DFS management packs are outdated and do not support Windows 2008 R2.

Where did you get that resource? If it was directly from the Microsoft site then it is correct.
