Hello,

Can I create a port trunking (up-link) between two HP switches: with 4x10GbE (SFP+) on one side to another with 1 40GbE (QSFP+) port? Please help.

Thanks

Not physically possible.

With brocade you can do this with a qspf breakout cable. This turns the one interface into 4 which you can then lag to other switch(es). I don't know if hp can do this.

Do I need to lag the other (qsfp side) switch as well? or just lag 4 sfp side?
Craig BeckCommented:
I'm not aware of a HP-made a breakout cable, hence saying not physically possible, however there are 'compatible' non-HP cables which MAY work.  I'm not guaranteeing it though, knowing how HP make it difficult to use non-HP transceivers.

You essentially get 4x 10G interfaces in the config so you need to trunk the interfaces at both ends.
