Concurrent User sessions

I have a customer with two remote users who access the network across a VPN and connect to the lan through remote desktop and a 2003 Server. The server hardware is failing. Is there another way that multiple remote users can connect concurrently other than using the same type of setup? I know Windows desktop o/s's only allow one session at a time. Is there anything?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No.  Windows Workstations are licensed only for one user at time.  Third party solutions exist but the costs involved would make a server less expensive (or at least HIGHLY competitive in cost).

You could switch to linux - but the learning curve and installation costs make the "free license" really expensive for most people.

You might want to look at Windows Multipoint Server or setup an RDS server (Remote Desktop - replaced terminal services name).

I wasn't aware there was an RDS server. I was under the impression that RDS was a role in Server. Tell me about it.
