Make a new, test Windows User Profile (Account) on the problem computer. Try opening the file over the network in the new Windows Profile. Does that work?

Can a different user with a different computer open the file over the network ?
this could be the persmission problem.

the mapped network drive. what kind of permission do you have?

the problem is not with the file but the with the network.  could be access to the file inside network drive.

is there any macros in the file?

Hi John Hurst,

Tried with different users and profile and system . result :Does that work.

Hi Flora Tylor,

READ/WRITE/MODIFY rights . it works sometime.
Outside the network works fine
with macros and without macros also crashes.

I think you meant to say different profiles and user and systems do work. Please clarify.

If so, replace the users Windows User Profile on the problem computer.
