Why won't this select menu style like the text input fields?

The quote form on the left side of the page

The text fields all look uniform, but the select menu does not have the same style. I tried to find where this is controlled from in the css, but am having trouble.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It looks uniform to me - how is it not conforming?

Styling for the select is located in the styles.css line 4358
input[type="text"], select {
  border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;
  height: 40px;
  padding: 5px 10px;
  transition: background 0.3s ease 0s;

That was the spot I thought was controlling the style too, only it doesn't seem to be listening.
The label for backing isn't on its own line, and the select menu isn't the same width as the text fields.

Something weird with your bootstrap - here is a sample using bootstrap forms with form-group and form-control - however it does not appear to have any effect when used on your site.

You could try the following hack

#contact-form input, #contact-form select {
  width:  100%;
