Add two time fields together

I have tried numerous things for this, but have two time columns in a database that I need to add together.
I have tried SUM(DURATION+SCHTM) as ETA in the sql query and most of the results are correct but on some it is not converting 60 minutes to an hour.
2:30:00 +10:30:00 is giving me 126000 instead of 130000
1:45:00 + 13:45:00 is giving me 149000 instead of 153000

How do I fix this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
