set msiexec not to quit cmd after installation

Hi EE,

I'm trying to create a batch file to install a msi file and restart the program after installation, but the problem is if done it quiet mode, it automatically quits the command line.

Is there any way to resolve this so it can continue to the next line and not create another batch file after installation?

regards and thanks in advance!

PS here is the copy of the script

pushd \\temp\software
msiexec /qn /norestart /i software.msi
copy z:\software.conf c:\software.conf

Do you mean, in your code, it quits after the msiexec /qn /norestart /i software.msi and the next line never runs?
Also, it just does this in quiet mode, i.e. /qn, but not in interactive mode?

yes next line doesn't run
Try this:
start /wait msiexec /qn /norestart /i software.msi
