How to remove a failed install of Exchange 2010

Hi,
I am having an issue with a fresh install of Exchange 2010 (fresh domain, no users, no data as yet) and for some reason the mailbox role did not install, below is the error I received:
Couldn't mount the database that you specified. Specified database: test; Error code: An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database action failed. Error: Operation failed with message: MapiExceptionNotFound: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x8004010f, ec=-2147221233)
[Database: test, Server: SP-EX03.xxxx.xx].

I checked this error and set the DC via command line as per Microsoft's recommendation but when I load Exchange, the mailbox role hasn't been installed and I am getting an access denied error when trying to load the other roles.

I have no data here at all and no one is using this domain as it is in testing....

Any ideas? should I just remove and start again

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If it is a test environment.
Install everything from scratch including domain. So you will get an error free Exchange

You can cleanup the Exchange

It is not possible to just remove Exchange and try again, without having to build the domain again from scratch - I have a forest with two child domains...i'm not sure what went wrong as all prepare work before hand worked without error
