Clearing outdated SQL BPA results

Hi

We would like to clear outdated SQL Best Practice Analyzer results to ensure that the BPA results are fresh.

Please advise if the old BPA results that are logged can be backed up or exported and how to clear the logged BPA results.

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks Victor

Can I clear or delete the log file after backing it up to refresh my BPA results?

Thanks

It's your decision but after backup then you'll be good to delete those files to release disk space.

Thanks. Would I also have to backup and clear any SQL instance logs in order for BPA to display accurately in case it gets old issues from those?
Vitor MontalvãoMSSQL Senior EngineerCommented:
No. BPA don't work based on previous issues. It will run every time as it's running for the first time.
Old reports is only for your own information if you want to keep an history.
