How to create a WPF datagrid in C# that is programmatically populated - not bound to a database

For the life of me, I cannot find an example/tutorial on creating a datagrid in vs2013 C# WPF and programmatically populating it.   It is not bound to a database (thousands of those examples!).  Can someone point me to something that would get me started?
