Windows 2012 R2 -- LTO tape backup software ?

I am getting a new Windows 2012 R2 server doing one of the below
** Option #1 = use Quantum Deduplication Software
that is included with my new LTO-6 tape drive
since I just want NIGHTLY full backups,
                              no item-level recovery/etc needed
** Option #2 = upgrade my old Symantec BackupExec which cost $$$$
  ** Option #3 = etc
===============================================================
 1. Has anyone used Software that is included with your LTO tape drive ?
 2. What Windows 2012 R2 "back-to-tape" software do you recommend since
build-in "windows server backup" does not allow you to backup to TAPE ?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This server is virtual or physical?

For Virtual server i recommend Veeam v8

You can use System Center Data Protection Manager 2012 R2. Backup to NAS, but it has capability to backup to tape (now you allways have to see the budget, for disks)

BackupExec and Netbackup is a solution but is expensive.

Hi,
you could try your Quantum software, and test it to see if it is fine for your use.
If not you could upgrade your Backup Exec.
I use Backup Exec, Netvault, ARCserve for physical server and they make the job.
Don't know about cheaper backup software. If you already have an old Backup exec you must ask for price : logically it should be cheaper than other new software because you already have an old license ; but sometimes it is more expensive or not globaly relevant.

Also you did not tell us if you want to backup only your 2012 server or if you have clients (other server or even pc) to backup with the same software and server.
