Unavailable option "Check for updates managed by your system administrator"

We often don't see this option until we click "install updates" prompting a terribly long search by Microsoft.  Our updates are managed in this way and there is no reason for us to go to MS for them.  How can I avoid this forced process and always have "check for updates managed by your system administrator" as an available option.

You need to review your Windows update GPO, if you do not have one already to need to look in the following location:

GPO > Computer Configuration > Policies > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update

you may have to drill down more to set times for checks etc. if you have a specific setting you want to resolve please let us know
