Crystal Reports Formula

I can't figure out how to create the formula to show the instructor's name on my report.  I have a field that lists the instructors name as his employee number {view_PT_Training_Instructor.Instructor}  then on a different table I want to pull the first and last name.

My formual Instructor Name is....  {view_PT_Training_Instructor.Instructor} & "-" & {view_PT_Employee.First_Name} & " " & {view_PT_Employee.Last_Name}

The name associated with employee # 1276 is SUE TAYLOR and I would like my report to display 1276-Sue Taylor but instead it is displaying 1276-The first person listed on the report in this case James Goldstein.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Move the formula from the Report Header to the Detail section.

Sorry, your scenario is a bit more involved.
You need to add the Employee  Table a second time to the report. Give it an Alias of "Instructor" and join from the Instructor view to that Aliased table.  Grab the name from that Aliased table -- not from the employee table.

Agree.

You may also want to remove one of the links to the view_PT_Training_Instructor.  As you have it linked there are 2 paths to it and that in some instances can cause issues.
