Quickbooks Premier Professional Services 2014 error code 6176

Hi, the error code occurs upon open of the Quickbooks file and requires reboot to get it to coorperate.  I used a full access admin account, ran repairs as suggested, turned off the firewall, and got the same result.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Close QuickBooks, copy the database files (.QBW and .TLG) to a local folder.

Now open QuickBooks and open the Local file. Use the Open Company button, not Recent files.

Does the local file open?

If it does, make sure you are using mapped drives to access the network drive and double check Firewall settings.  Run the Network Diagnostic tool.

Seems to be not a problem running locally.

If it is not a problem locally, that means the database file is likely OK. Run the network diagnostic tools, make necessary changes. Then run the Server Manager on the Server and scan for the company file. Now test again.

the server is a Synology diskstation that is a very basic file server.

If the "Server" does not run software like the QB Server Manager but hosts the company file, then do the networking tests above.

I already performed the diagnostic tool.  It prompts when the error occurs.

It may be the file server is not compatible with QB Networking.

Keep the data on a local machine and use Host Multi User access if you need more than one user.
