Best tool for downloading streaming video

I have tools to download video from you tube, but I need a good tool to download video from other websites.

Any suggestions?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I had trouble getting it to work. It asked for a converter. Are there any other tools out there?

I finally got it to work. Tutorial wasn't the best. The first few seconds of the videos are badly pixelated and dark.

see the first few seconds I captured in the attached file...

I tried the apowersoft tool. I get "Error loading player: Could
 not load player configuration"

Shutdown remove power ( and battery if laptop ) for 2 minutes.
This allows the motherboard to reset.
Restart and try again.
Post results.

Hello Mark
I use two  one which is a stand alone and one is an extension for Firefox..
Chrome is my default browser.
Youtube downloader free or pro 19 dollars a year renewable.  I prefer the Pro as the pro can also be used to convert any video on my HDD and extract the audio out of the video.

And Video download helper with Firefox and then include the download video as mp4
These are also accessable in FF Get More Add On's from the left side
A bit more on this
MEDIA DOWNLOAD & CONVERT FIREFOX EXTENSION
https://www.downloadhelper.net/install.php
FF extensionsAs some video wont download I switch over to FF copy and paste the URL to there then I should see the logo for Video Download helper click in this and save video as choose your format.

If none of these suit you I can recommend WM Recorder, includes a yiutube video how it works' it adds the URL in it's own interface with the option to pause. plus many other features all in one if you like.
There is a free trial which works great
http://wmrecorder.com/home/
Please note not all video can be downloaded. The link you posted is using JW player and streams with adds.
Normally you can right click the screen and get URL not this one.

PS
I have captured two examples for you using Fraps at 60 frames but size is over 4 gigs which is normal, then converted it from raw avi to mp4 HD 720p with a video scale of 1280 x 720. using Freemake converter.
Play the video at full screen and capture that.
Press F9 if that is your key set to trigger and stop the capture.
Then convert in Freemake to make it smaller using the mp4 settings.
You can choose a higher resolution in Freemake with mp4 settings> if you want better quality but size will increase.
Check them out here at drop box or download, let it pause for a moment to buffer ahead a bit so you get a nice playback.
It always looks a bit pixelated and grainy on drop box much better after downloaded

There are many capture tools available it's a user choice.
I have used this one as well still have it somewhere , this program includes splitting the video and others.
My Screen recorder

BSR Recorder excellent 49.95

Only needed if the URL doesn't download otherwise downloading them is the preferred.
