Vmware for Dell server

To install vmware into Dell server, should I buy the vmware ESXi from Vmware ? I see there is ESIx OEM for Dell server. Should I use this copy ? Is it free for download and I also need to pay for the license ?

Which source of VMware is recommended, from Dell or from VMware ? What's the difference ?

You can obtain a free license for ESXi from VMware. It has several limitations, so you may find that you wish to purchase a license with fewer limitations.

If you are installing ESXi on a Dell server, you should prefer to install the Dell-customized version. It is a free download and will install in trial mode until you give it a license key, either the free one or the purchased one.

The Dell customization includes some drivers and tweaks specific to Dell servers. Other vendors have similar customized versions available for their servers.

You obtain the license from VMware, but in all applicable cases, you prefer to install from the vendor-customized ISO.

"you give it a license key, either the free one or the purchased one"

After downloading the vendor customized VMware, where should I buy the key, from the hardware vendor or still from the VMware  and use the key to input to the vendor customized VMware ?

So, use the customized Dell VMware and provide the license key that I purchase from VMware, correct ?

Tks again.
