IIS and windows 10

I have been having a major issue sending emails from my web apps in windows 10
I have the SMTP server running in IIS
Localhost on 25

If I telnet localhost 25 I get:
220 smtp.gmail.com ESMTP p17sm3999913wic.4 - gsmtp

What is this please and is it correct?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I didn't telnet an smtp port lately, but googling the result tells me this is a normal output.
You should try and describe your error more detailed (although I don't think I can help).

Since I'm pretty sure that you are not hosting on Google/Gmail, I don't think that is correct.  I haven't a clue how you would even get that response.

can you post the following info from your Win10 machine:

- an ipconfig /all
- your local host file  (its in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\)
- the output from the following command

1. open a command prompt
2. type nslookup and hit enter
3. type localhost and hit enter

No solution as yet
Windows 10 updates have allowed my apache xampp to now send php mail so the IIS issue is not so urgent
