device that will increase wifi signal strength

I have ATT Uverse internet.  The router is located in a closet in the master bedroom of the house.
It's located there because in this house that is where the wall connection for the ATT uverse is located.
The home builder of this house must have been a genius to think of doing that.

My home office is in the den which is on the other side of the house.  When I'm on my laptop on the wifi in the master bed room the internet signal strength is strong  and when I walk over to the other side of the house in the den, the internet is weaker and not as fast.

On my iphone i downloaded an app that lets you visualize the wifi signal strength. So with that app I can see that when I'm in the master bedroom the signal is much stronger than it is in the den.

Anyone know a good device that will increase the internet wifi signal strength in my den?

I was thinking something like a wifi range extender or signal strength booster or something like that.

But on Best Buy the reviews are mixed.

So I was thinking maybe someone experienced this before and bought a device that works.

I suggest either TP Link range extender or Cisco Linksys range extender. I have a colleague who uses TP Link for the very same reason as you and he says it works fine. I trust his judgement in the matter. I am going to get the Cisco Linksys for experimenting but have not done so yet.

I have a Cisco RV220W in the basement and it covers my two story house just fine. It is a fairly powerful wireless router.
