Microsoft Word document review panel and comments visible; won't print.

A multi-edited Word 2010 document contains comments visible in the review pane.

Review Tab > Tracking Pane > Final: Showing Mark-up is selected.

Also, Review Tab > Tracking Pane > Show Mark-up > Reviewers > All Reviewers is selected.

I see the edits as I'm writing, and I see edits in the Print Preview.

Print Dialog > Settings > Print All Pages > Document Properties > Print Mark-up is selected.

I am interested in making my printers print what is selected.  I do not want to save every comment-laden document as a PDF in order to print comments.

Please help.

The "converted from a previous version" is an excellent question.  In this case, I created the documents and sent them away for editing.  When they came back, they wouldn't print properly.  I have not created and edited a document on one computer (i.e. without conversion) to see if prints correctly.  By "conversion" you mean an earlier version of Microsoft Word, right?  If it turns out that the documents were converted, what would be a solution to enable printing of mark-up?
I did some digging and the handling of revision markup has undergone quite a few changes across versions, I'm thinking that some element has been lost in translation leading to the problem you are having now.
