what model is it?
At that age it still has warranty. Get in touch with Lenovo, and ask them for a warranty replacement if they can't help you get around the problem by other means.

ASKER

The model is lenovo tab2 A10-70F

I did contact Lenovo and was told that the warranty does not cover software issues.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I'm sure its stuck, for a few weeks now it does not go past the Lenovo boot page. I cant do a hard reset. I dont mind losing all the data I just need use of the device.

I did not know that it should not be upgraded. I think it was done automatically.

What I want to do is be able to reload the OS
Try turning the tablet off. Then press the volume up button and the power button at the same time.

When the screen flickers, release the buttons, and shortly you should see the recovery options.
Thanks for this link.  I am now returning to Lenovo now that I know exactly what the problem is.

Thank you for all your help.

Odette
i hope they take it in warranty
