Windows 10 and Surface Pro 3 - core i5 128GB has excessive fan noise

I have done a clean install of Windows 10 to my Surface Pro 3 and am now experiencing excessive fan noise. Running Windows 8.1 I never encountered this problem. I have run services.msc and changed the status of Windows Installer and Windows Module Installer to Manual. This has not stopped the fan from spinning up not long after boot up and running constantly.

Make sure you have installed all the drivers for the surface, particularly for the chipset, and if there are any utilities, install those too.
Hi,

Please check the CPU usage. Download and run HWmonitor. You will see why the fan is working a lot.

Not that I want to spoil the fun, but usually is when is on charge or running various apps, gets overheated. Played with many Surface, all the same..

Kind regards.

Thanks for these replies - I have checked that all the drivers and firmware updates are in place. I will also try the HWmonitor. I know form experience that prior to installing Windows 10 the fan only ran once I had been using my tablet for an extended period of time or doing lots of work at once. This problem is new and starts up not long after signing in.

Thanks

Scott
I have installed the latest driveres, and have monitored CPU usage - the culprit appears to be Edge.
