No need for CAS role when only sending Sharepoint Workflow epost to AD mail enabled groups.

The customer have none Exchange servers in their server enviroment. Now they want to install Exchange 2013 only for sending Sharepoint Workflow epost to AD mail enabled groups. I see no need for CAS role exept for : https://localhost/ecp (works only on CAS server). Use of powershell  to create send/receive connectors , transport rules, accepted domain should do, or is there something i missing without install CAS role. If I need CAS role in later future it is still possible install the CAS  role on same server (Mailbox)?.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First server need to be installed with both CAS and Mailbox role. Else Exchange won't work. CAS is mandatory.
