Where are the settings for emailing set in Nagios

We had to change our email configuration from a locally hosted solution to office 365.  We had a serious issue with the previous platform and had to switch in a hurry and Nagios is not sending alerts now.

Where in the cfg files do I look for the email settings and is there a way to test them.

Thanks.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Login to the monitoring box and try
echo test | mail -v -s "test" youruser@yourdomain.com

If you receive the email, congratulations! Mail sending is configured properly. If not, fix it. Nagios will simply use "mail" and expect it to work.

If you mean where does Nagios store it's contact data, then on a Debian box it's in
/etc/nagios3/conf.d/contacts_nagios2.cfg

Thank you.

We have some internal DNS issues that we need to resolve, but your suggestion was very helpful to find the issue.
