It should, in there, show a depiction of the external speakers. Does it? &nbsp;And does the picture say the speakers are working but are not?<br />

were the speakers working before, with win8 ? &nbsp;if not upgrading won't help<br />
test them on another system to be sure - unless they are intern , laptop speakers<br />
any errors in device manager ? if so, post a screenshot

It may be &nbsp;a hardware issue. I going to a clean install to Windows 8.1 and see if this will resolve the problem. Thanks for the suggestions
