camera picture (I only want image)

iphone 6
friend took a picture with built in camera app
and audio and video was stored with the image

I am not sure image file type


as a programmer I know how to store text in a photo by opening jpg with notepad and adding text
I have heard about storing virus in photo

Question is how to be sure image is just an image using iphone 6

But i am using built in iphone 6 camera
I even try on a new phone in the store

and I notice that there is video stored with the camera picture

please do not give virus answer
