SharePoint 2010 - How to remove ribbon but keep scrollbar?

Hello Experts,

I had found a solution that adds "isdlg=1 " to the URL whic indeed removes the ribbon temporarily which is great so I can reference the page with the ribbon if need to BUT it also impairs the scoll bar leaving the page nonfunctional.
Is there another way?

Thank you in advance.

You can use CSS to hide SharePoint elements.
You can add css to master page to impact the complete site, or just to single page to impact only the corresponding page.

Herewith attached some reference page to hide SharePoint Elements like Ribbon, QuickLaunch etc.

I hope, i have not missed with respect to task you are trying to do.
