How to resolve DNS application name

Hello,
we have CRM application running internally on w2k12 IIS server. To run the application, employees would have to enter:
http://<server-name>/CRM. I'd like to have the more friendly name http://crm.<mycomanyname>.com pointing to the same application.
How can I do that?

Thank you for your help.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you need to create DNS A record in local DNS server pointing to Application server .

Exampale:-

given URL:-https://dc2008.microsoft.com/owa and i want to access same app with friendly name Mail than i will create A record with Mail and give same application server IP.

After this i can access same App with https://mail/owa
