No videos will play on my Mac computer.

Happened before and I followed directions to shut down, while pushing a key.. but I can't remember what key and what else I did.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Which videos are you trying to watch? Are they in a web browser or iTunes or something else?

Did you mean instructions for resetting the SMC or PRAM?  Resetting both of those fixes the majority of minor Mac issues.

To Reset the SMC on a modern MacBook, with a non-user serviceable battery:
Turn off the Laptop
Plug in power
Hold the Left Shift, Control, Option Keys along with the Power button for 15 seconds.
Turn on the computer.

On laptops with user removable batteries, unplug the computer and remove the battery, then hold the Power button for 15 seconds.

On Desktop Macs, such as power Macs, unplug the power and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

To Reset the PRAM:
While starting or booting up your computer, hold the Command, Option, p, r keys and wait for it to chime 3 times.  3 times fully resets the PRAM.
