Test external ldap over ssl connection

I set up a RODC and am at a loss to trouble shoot why my vendor is having issues pulling externally from our AD over port 636. They are able to telnet so the port is open. Does anyone know of a good utility to try to generate some AD traffic externally so I can have my network/security guys log traffic to see whats happening?

Has your vendor verified that their application client is using port 636 to connect to your ldap?

You could have someone from your web team create a simple script that can query your ldap using port 636 and then have your Network Team monitor the traffic.

As for a simple test tool to generate some network traffic, there are several ldap browsers available:
