Strange behavior ESXi console

Hello there,

1 of my 2 ESXi hosts has some strange behavior on the console.
When i access the console of the host, it only shows the (what seems to be) log screen which only displays the word 'time' (see my screenshot)
When i switch to the 'normal' banner screen with ALT+F11, i see the banner screen, but the yellow colors are gone and also the line which  normaly prompts to press F2 or F12 is gone (2nd screenshot)
I cannot find the solution for this. Who can help me further?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you looking at the physical console, or are you connecting trough ILO, etc?

If it is physical, take off the keyboard and mouse and try a different USB port, it seems like it's not awaking from console power save mode properly.

Have you rebooted the host and is it still the same?

OK, so I assume that if you connect a keyboard and monitor the output is OK, and the problem only appears when connected through the IMM console redirector.

In that case, it's not a big issue, more thant likely one of the usual incompatibilities between browser/java that we are experiencing today with LOTS of hardware appliances.

Try with different browsers, and with different java versions (I use firefox with Java v7.25) since with Java 8 a lot of older harware appliances don't work properly or at all anymore:
brocade switches,
sun servers,
ibm servers,
old storage cabinets (IBM, StorageTek, DELL), etc
Also since Chrome dropped NPAPI support, another lot of appliances stopped working too:
IBM's download director, etc
