Answer to Perry

Hello, Perry,

After our QuickBooks conversation we had yesterday morning at xxxx I clearly understood that  QuickBooks on line is not an option for you, no matter what flavor it comes. I verified the alternative options to have QuickBooks setup on your new desktop as a Host to which we can connect as many QuickBooks concurrent users as you like. This is feasible. This solution it is not recommended by the QuickBooks team but it works and I think that this may be your best solution for your needs.

The cost for this solution is $ 349 annually for 2 QuickBooks Pro 2016 licenses or $ 499 for 3 licenses. In this case I need to create a Local Area Network (LAN) between your two computers in your office, and share the company files between them. In addition to this I need to create some exceptions in your firewalls to guarantee the smooth flow of QuickBooks information between the host computer and the second PC.

This configuration may take one or two hours longer compared to what I quoted you for the QuickBooks on line. But it will be locally installed and you will like it much more.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

John this is a very important piece of information for me. I also love the fact that you are a quickbooks expert. I will keep this in mind.

Guys I aslo post a referral that needs to be reviewed if you have the time. THank you.
When will you post? I was going to step away from my desk but will wait if it's going to be within the next 15 minutes or so. Thanks.
John there is another option which is offered by swizznet. This option is Citrix based and install quickbooks desktop. still it's an online option. Do you think that this Citrix based option is faster or slower than the host option please? Also I think I shroud put that important note in my recommendation ... What you said basically about the the slowness of the host and that a server is better with more than 3 users.. Finally I found a Quickbooks expert. :)
Stephen is already posted. Thank you for being so prompt.
Don't see an email for it...
I cannot provide a precise answer. Since you are going over secure internet (and that uses the slow side of a DSL line) it is probably slower.

The best way is a small server but for 2 users, Host Multi User Access is decent. If the user is looking at 3 users, then ask the user to consider a small server.

I would proceed with your first email and then allow that there are other possibilities to consider.
Italiabella - do you mean the Referral for Mario?
They are very tight with the budget. This is why my fist option was going with quickbooks on line. But he is afraid that t a way too slow and with now functionality
OK, i found it. but please check it. John Hurst already commented on it.
@Italiabella - Thanks and I was happy to help.

They are very tight with the budget <-- I have been there with customers. Work carefully and make sure the main machine is reliable and working well. Make sure the other machine can map the folder on the main machine. The main machine at least should be Windows Pro and NOT Home.
