Rename or Create New SMB share in Windows 2012 R2

I have an SMB on my Windows 2012 R2 Server that is not required anymore. I now need to create a new share folder. Would it be good practice to rename the share or should I create a new share.

If rename is OK, is it possible to do that, There is no option in Server Manager to do that

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I suggest building a new share and set permissions from scratch. Cleaner..

You will need to reset the permissions on the folder after renaming anyway.

list down share permissions then remove sharing for that folder and re share it.
do it with File and Storage feature and apply permissions as you want.
