Will remote devices work with .local after Nov 1?

We have Exchange 2010 on Windows 2008 R2 Server with .local domain. We have a UCC cert about to expire. Is there any way to configure the UCC cert and DNS and be able to get email locally and also off site to android and iPhones, iPads, OWA, etc. without completely re-doing our local domain and creating new Windows domain profiles on each workstation?
Thank you

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Not if you use public certificates, you can use a self signed or internal Ca to issue certificates for use on the .local domain for internal use.

I.e. Public door using public certificates, private door using private/internal self generated certificate.

The other option many choose to do is adjust their internal references to use the public names I.e instead of mail.mydomain.local, they change the internal references/GPO to use mail.mypublicdomain.com.

There are three including autodiscovery which in recent flurry of these types of questions, people miss./forget they e difficulty also deals with GPO that pushes this information to the users.
