This is a really interesting post.. I am getting ready to upgrade from vCenter 5.1 to 6.0 update 1 and working using IBM XIV storage and hoping this will not impact me since I have 110+ all of my host are still running 5.0 or 5.1

Thanks Andrew,

we are using this command to get this updated manually.

esxcli system settings advanced set -i 0 -o /VMFS3/UseATSForHBOnVMFS5

any way to get this implemented for multiple hosts -or if this command to be used on each host manually ?
Host profile can be used to update this ?

any feature/performance impact if we disable this ATS ?

ATS Disable and VAAI disable both will work here ? as in one case it worked after disabling vaai but not in other ?

Upgrade will work in both case here like if just make it upgraded[existing vmfs3] without downtime ?
or if i have to create new lun with vmfs 5 from scratch.
need to check for advanced setting for any specific value i have to check ?
