Download, install and run Process Explorer from Microsoft (Sys Internals). Look under the Explorer tree (left side) for strange (alphanumeric) processes. If these exist, kill them but do not restart. <br />

Run Malwarebytes again to get rid of viruses and malware. &nbsp;Now restart. <br />
<br />
If you still see the popups, restart in Safe Mode, no networking and run Malwarebytes in Safe Mode. Remove malware that way. <br />

See if either approach above works.

I have a client that keeps getting a popup. This is on his home and work PC's. I have run malwarbytes, adwcleaner, rkill, tdsskiller, combofix, microsoft security essentials and have vipre anti virus installed.<br />

Combo fixed seemed to fix it for a day but it was back by end of next day. He is pretty good at getting viruses... So it is hard to tell if he is just re infecting himself visiting a bad website or if i am not cleaning it off. Attached is a picture of the pop up.<br />

I have reset browsers and cleared temp folders also.<br />

Web browser pop up keeps coming back

Web browsers are applications used primarily to display documents, files and media from the Internet, identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that can be a page, image, video or other file. Some browsers require the use of add-ons or extensions to safely render the information they receive; others have systems built into them to perform the same functions.

Spyware is software that aims to gather information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge; it has also come to include programs that engage in various kinds of electronic fraud. Anti-spyware is software that removes or blocks that software; some common vendors include Malwarebytes, McAfee, Spybot-Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware and BitDefender.

Anti-Spyware

A vulnerability is a weakness which allows an attacker to reduce a system's information assurance. Vulnerability is the intersection of three elements: a system susceptibility or flaw, attacker access to the flaw, and attacker capability to exploit the flaw. To exploit a vulnerability, an attacker must have at least one applicable tool or technique that can connect to a system weakness, known as the attack surface. Vulnerability management is the cyclical practice of identifying, classifying, remediating, and mitigating vulnerabilities. Other vulnerabilities include security risks, security defects and constructs in programming languages that are difficult to use properly.

Vulnerabilities

Security is the protection of information systems from theft or damage to the hardware, the software, and the information on them, as well as from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. The main goal of security is protecting assets, and an asset is anything of value and worthy of protection.  Information Security is a discipline of protecting information assets from threats through safeguards to achieve the objectives of confidentiality, integrity, and availability or CIA for short. On the other hand, disclosure, alteration, and disruption (DAD) compromise the security objectives.
