"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You could use Splunk as long as you do not exceed 500 MB of data a day.  Your other choices for free as follows:

Kiwi Server from SolarWinds (allows only 5 sources)
PRTG Network Monitoring Software
Icinga (again this is a full network monitoring software)
IPSwitch has a free Syslog server
SysLog server hosted on SourceForge (, not updated for the last two years or so

Or you can just install any version of Linux and use the builtin rsyslog or the distribution channel syslog-ng.  It's all free.
