Running internet on VMWare 10 virtual machine running Win Server 2003 server

I have a VMWare 10 virtual machine running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.

The pendrive has been detected by the virtual machine and i can see the folders in the pen drive while still on the virtual machine win 2003 server OS.

However, the internet tethered through a cell phone is not detected. So i don't have an internet connection on the virtual machine VMWare 10 as i have it on my laptop running win 8.1?

Howw do i get the virtual machine detect the internet connection tethered though the cell phone.

So, is this VMware Workstation or VMware vSphere ?

If you switch your network settings to Bridged, whilst your host is connected to your phone, it should get an IP Address and hence internet.

BUT, your Bridged Network Adaptor, must be bridged with your WiFi network interface, and sometimes, WiFi interfaces are not compatible with VMware Workstation 10.

You will have to use and create a new network, using VMware Network Editor, and link your VM to this network, via Brigded mode.

Host Internet is functional in VMWare. I am able to view sites on Mozilla Firefox, but not on Internet Explorer. Looks like a security permissions issue.

so if you ping 158.152.1.222 it works and you get a response ?

My windows laptop has crashed due to little hard disk space available. Around 50 MB. I'll set it right and test the ping.

BTW I am able to open all pages in Mozilla Firefox. But IE being in Windows server is configured for extra security.
