How to adjust the logo image

My site: http://bodyfirst.ie/

I want to adjust the logo image such that, "BodyFirst" and the tag line are properly aligned horizontally.

I tried cropping the two and then merging as one, but that reduces the image quality significantly.

How can I do this?

which photo editing tools did you used ?
Jasc Paint Shop Pro, from ages ago.
But any free tool would be able to do it (Gimp, Paint.Net). It's just experience from there.
I didn't adjust the big logo for quality's sake, then selected the byline, and moved it from the right to the left (making the letters thinner, might need other solution is you thought it was too thin), then cropped the whole (as there's now whitespace to the right)
So, you cropped the image i.e the big logo and tag line separately and then merged them and adjusted them as one single image .

Just wondering how you did it. If you can please tell me..

Keep it one image. Select only byline, and use the program's resize tool, as I said I resized by dragging the right to the left (after selecting ONLY the byline).
