Are you saying that you unselected updates and they are still showing as needed to be updated?

Is this a stand alone computer or networked?
rayluvsAuthor Commented:
They are in the "optional".

It's a stand alone.
Thomas GrassiSystems AdministratorCommented:
have your tried to right click on the update and select hide?

No we haven't, but will try.

The updates we want to uninstall are from 3rd parties, HP.

Question, the process of removing via CMD, does work with then HP updates?

Thanx,  will do.
McKnifeCommented:
Selecting "hide update" alone is enough, no need for the command line.

We haven't tried deleting yet, but you bring in another question:

Is there a dfference in disk size between physically deleting it and hiding it?
Thomas GrassiSystems AdministratorCommented:
If you uninstall the update file file will still remain on the disk
The process of uninstalling a update only uninstalls the patch from your system does not delete the file

Your original question was how to remove the updates from the Windows update screen

I have answered that question by hiding the updates

McKnifeCommented:
You don't physically delete an update. If it's already installed, you can uninstall it and this will save space. If you haven't installed it yet and you hide it, the already downloaded files will be discarded by the update service and space is free again after 30 days.
