Thanks for the advice, I am still unsure how to create an application password (in additionto the one I already have?) in accounts google. Still no joy on the connectivity to email server I'm afraid.

After installing my newly aquired DVR I have managed to get it to work OK,(I can connect to the cameras via internet using my iPad) but when I try to make it send me an email it cannot connect to the server. I have a feeling I might have entered the wrong data in the email section of the DVR.. I use gmail as my primary account. The email mask looks something like this:<br />
Enable (yes)<br />
SMTP Server (I have set smtp.gmail.com<br />
Port (I have set 0)<br />
Need SSL (I have set yes because my account have this)<br />
User Name (I have set my email adress)<br />
Password (I have set my email password)<br />
Sender ( nothing here)<br />
