To achieve the sync option USB I don't think there is an option for this to be automatic. Did you have this with dropbox?
Dropbox remains a benchmark against which others must compete
Like Dropbox you get a certain amount of free space then you have to upgrade and pay for the extra
Flickr is one option
https://www.flickr.com/
Photobucket
http://photobucket.com/learn/upload
you can use One Drive, but you'll need to add the images to the one drive folder on your PC then it syncs, I simply upload my photos videos to one drive then I nolonger need to use the folder on my PC.

Google Drive
Like OneDrive you can have 15GB of free space when you create a Google account -

Google drive,  to clarify, gives you free, unlimited storage of your photos (at a reduced resolution that I've found fine for printing photos up to A4)

Google photos has an automatic sync with a folder on your computer so all you'd need to do is copy and paste from your SD card.

Google gives you the ability to easily create albums and stories. It also touches up photos automatically

I'm a home "snapper", meaning I don't need anything if too high quality, like I said, up to A4.

So it does depend on the purpose if your photos...Home snaps or something more professional?

i am getting messages from google like i already used up 15GB. If you want more pay monthly some amount. I want some free tool to do it. Flickr i checked seems lot of space but auto syncing of the photos and saving is not there looks like. I have to manually copy and paste all the pictures. Any other good alternative?
RobOwner (Aidellio)Commented:
Google will give you unlimited storage but you'd have to have it resize the pictures that are already there. How important is it that you have full resolution stored in the cloud?
MereteCommented:
gudii9 how big are your photos?
If your taking photos each over 12 megs you will use up lots of unnecessary space wherever you put them.
Do you need this space online to store or to share your photos?
If it's just for storage
Did you know there is great storage with a 1 or 2 terabyte USB HDD to store them?
Could save you a lot in the long run as I  said I don't know of any site that has unlimited free space.
Hosting a web page is not free so somewhere down the track they will make money off you.
Reduce the mega pixels or consider a USB drive.
RobOwner (Aidellio)Commented:

Again, Google drive has unlimited storage for photos!

MereteCommented:
From Wiki
Google offers all users an initial 15 GB of online storage space, that is shared across three of its most-used services: Google Drive, Gmail, and Google+ Photos, (aka Picasa Web Albums).
Users can upgrade their free 15 GB account through a paid monthly subscription plan to get additional storage. Documents using Google Docs native formats (including .gdoc, .gslides, and .gsheet) do not count towards this quota.
In Google+ Photos, photos of resolution less than 2048 x 2048 pixels and videos shorter than 15 minutes also do not count towards this quota.
Uploaded files in Microsoft Office and OpenDocument formats (with possible formatting changes) can be converted to Google's proprietary formats, and thus can be stored without counting against the storage quota.

As of 13 March 2014, storage plans offered by Google, charged exclusively in US dollar so that any customer outside the US will need to pay exchange charges, are as follows:
More storage starts at $1.99 per month for 100GB. To get 1TB, it's $9.99 per month, and 10TB is $99.99 per month. Google Drive's pricing menu changes faster than Clark Kent, so check Google's pricing page for updates. By comparison, Microsoft's One Drive offers 15GB of storage for free, the same as Google Drive.Oct 31, 2014

RobOwner (Aidellio)Commented:
I also take photos on my Samsung galaxy. I have the Google photos asp installed and it automatically backs up all my photos and videos (over WiFi unless specified otherwise). No taking the sd card out :)

Remember to configure the app to upload at the reduced resolution to get unlimited storage.

Why make your life difficult if you don't have to ;)

I use 4 external HDD
My partner however  is a metal detectorist and posts his video and photos of the excursions on the MD forum, everyone who uses this forum has to upload their photos and video to flickr. then add the URL back to the MD forum which shows the images.
Occasionally he gets a space warning and needs to upgrade( pay for more) so he just deletes a few and reduces the size of the images.
For HD video you need Flickr pro

Here's the pricing and plans

Home/Pro Plan - 75GB
24 month subscription      $5.61 a month (billed $134.64 for 2 years)
12 month subscription      $6.19 a month (billed $74.28 for 12 months)
6 month subscription      $7.44 a month (billed $44.64 for 6 months)
Monthly subscription      $8.69 a month
the thing is with Cloud storage many are concerned with privacy.
The HDD I use are Western Digital USB not the My Book.
The My Book are problematic because of the virtual partition inside.  Once formatted it was fine but I don't trust them either.
Sticking WD Buffalo I have had no problems and every 5 years I change them.

i am looking only for free site. Above pricing is bit high end for me.
MereteCommented:
Agree.
Flickr seems to be the best same with DropBox which I use.
Microsoft OneDrive is also good. But need a Microsoft Account .
There is social media like Facebook, just don't add any friends and keep it private not Public and no one  sees your profile.
You could store tons of albums. I don't think there is any limits there

If you upload your photos automatically to OneDrive, you get an extra 15Gb of storage.

Or buy this disk and get another free 200Gb (for 2 years):

Yes of course, just try it, 15Gb + 15Gb will get you started.

I don't think there are 4Tb passport hard drives available yet. WD passport ultra are available up to 3Tb.

I had answered all your questions gudii9
Anyone can use it so long as your create a Microsoft account.
One drive supports video music photos anything really
Personal experience stay away from the my book and  wd passport they have a virtual drive  looks like a CD rom drive ( emulator) and it sits in front of the main partition,
This VD which gets flakey and if it has problem windows will ask you to format the drive noway round it, it happened to me one time when I bought one without realizing it was different from my other 3 USB Buffalo 1 terabyte drive.. just use USB Buffalo these I have had great success with.
With one drive
How it works for me using windows live email I am logged in there I just open Outlook then choose OneDrive
Or you can just use Onedrive open it log in save password and just drag and drop your photos .
OnedriveI sort my images into folders
One drive
Gerwin Jansen, EE MVETopic Advisor Commented:
@merete, which device has that virtual CD? I have a few passport drives that don't have that?
MereteCommented:
I accidently bought a WD My Book, and when I plug it into my PC it creates this CD rom emulator for backup purposes I suppose but a week after I bought there was a problem and windows couldn't access the drive and asked me to format the drive, I was lucky I was able to take all my files back off the 1 terabyte partition using my Get Data Back and then I formatted it. I have had to format it one more time about 3 months later with the same windows error so now I use it only for small storage. As I can recover files with GDB if it happens again but so far it hasn't and now it's 2 year later.
I can only see this partition using GET Data Back. It shows up as the 644 mg and is in front of the 1 terabyte.

Ah, that's myBook - not Passport, Passport doesn't have that ;)
MereteCommented:
Really, I understand now, thanks..Yes I have read up with WD Passbook.
I'll stick with basic WD Buffalo USB drives :)
