Exchange 2010 DR

Hi everyone,

I have to design a DR plan for my Exchange 2010 SP3 setup as we are taking exchange to another city as a DR plan. We have 2 mailbox servers and 2 cas/ht and we have decided to put only one combo server at the DR site. The issue is that we have 3 TB of databases which will need to be replicated to the new server ? Any ideas what could be the best approach to do it ?
Also, if someone knows a good link as a guide to the DR please let me know.

Regards to all.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you mean DR in test?
You can setup the new server on the same LAN as the current site and then move the server to the new location, or you can just seed all of the data over the WAN.

Copying all data over the WAN will take a while. How much bandwidth do you have? During an actual emergency where I lost the primary site it was faster to drive a spare SAN up to the DR site, replicate all of the databases over a few days, and then drive the SAN and VM back to the main site than to try to replicate over the WAN.

I would look first at the TechNet documentation.  You don't want to miss a step while doing all this.

Now is also a good time to look at Office 365 or Exchange 2013/2016.
