get folder access rights on remote computer

need to be able to check access rights on my remote computers and also set the permissions.
I can log into the computers and do it manual but a script would be nice.

can someone point me in the right direction with psexec or powershell or even a bat file please?

i have to pass the username and the password to the server in order to gain access.
Thanks!

We would need to be specific on what access rights you're talking about. If this is an Active Directory domain, then the preferred way would be to use group policy to configure User Rights Assignments.

more so what i generally have to do for some of our programs to run is the following.
Take ownership of say c:\needaccess   as the administrator
then take and change the security level for users (not a domain environment but a local lan) to modify

i just need to
1) check if users has modify permissions to the folder(s)
2) change the permissions to modify for users if not
