EXCH 2007 logging

Hi Experts,

after my drive was full and the EXCH2007 DB´s were offline, I moved some log files to another location, I moved the oldest files.
Is this a problem for my Backup Software BACKUPEXEC2014 ?

Do I have to move the files back later on, when I have enough space again ?

What about circular logging, can I use it and still restore single emails or items ?

It is common scenario, you can take full backup to purge old logs. With circular logging, you cannot do a restore, as logs are purged after enabling it. You can use it with 2010 DAG, where you can have multiple copies of your DB's with Circular logging and mailbox limit.

So you need full backup, if you want to restore it.

does it mean, all log files purged into the db ?
or the files just deleted ?
What about my older logfiles which I moved to another location ?

For now you have only option to enable circular logging and mount the DB if you are not in plan to increase disk space.

once it is done take disable circular logging. and keep taking backup.

Now do you have any passive copy of your Exchange DB? if yes then it is possible that passive copy is not full updated and backup application is not purging logs.

It was possible to connect a LUN from my old storage to the EXCH.
Then I moved all DB´s to is and the logs too.
Everything is up again.
