Is Fanduel actually a pointless waste of money?

I made money on the first week of NFL fan-duel, and thought it might be like that every weekend.

But, I'm seeing, it seems that Fan-duel is now so popular, it is so over-saturated, that the probability of me locking in a lineup better than enough people to make money is zero.
Contests get hundreds of thousands of entries. I haven't made one cent since my first $20  week.

I still have $19.50 in it, from $25 doubled + 20, with a few 5/10 $ contests, and I think I'm just going to do lots of 25 cent lineups to run it out.

Has anyone cleaned up one week?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Contests get hundreds of thousands of entries  <-- So your odds are tiny. Better chance of being struck by lightning.
As John noted, the odds of hitting a big tournament are minuscule.  Until you can afford to gamble on a lineup in those tournaments, you'd be much better served sticking to 50-50 contests and doubling up $5 at a time.  Once you've banked a reasonable amount of money, you can "piss away" a contest or two a week at $1-2 ea without really affecting your bankroll.  Playing only the high-value tournaments is a lot like playing the lottery and wondering why you're not winning.

It's totally pointless hoping to compete now. My dad and his cretinous friends were interested in participating in DK for the whimsy, but I'm going to say to just go with Yahoo Fantasy.
